June 12: FG declares public holiday

The federal government has declared Monday, June 14, a public holiday to mark this year’s Democracy Day.

A statement by the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Shuaib Belgore, on Thursday, which disclosed this, pointed out that June 12 is one of the most memorable days in Nigeria’s political history.

The statement said the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, who made the declaration congratulated Nigerians on the occasion.

He advised all citizens to support the present administration in its efforts at ensuring a united and prosperous nation.

It is the day what is regarded as the country’s freest and fairest presidential election held.
